Diálogos en España

This course, which combines classes and some cultural and sporting activities shared with local Spanish students, takes place in Vigo and/or La Coruña.

Class with students

To complement Leaving Cert

The curriculum is designed to complement the Leaving Cert syllabus in the context of a Spanish environment. It aims to give each student a strong foundation in basic grammar and communication skills (oral/aural).

Classes consist of max. 10 students. These very small classes maximize personal attention and allow our experienced native teachers to attend to the particular needs and problems of each individual student.

Improve Fluency

Our teachers' oral approach guarantees progress in both oral and written Spanish, using current material, conversation (magazines, TV clips, etc.) and role-play (debates, PowerPoint, etc.).

The timetable is adapted to include a few extra-curricular tasks: cinema, videos, reading, writing short stories, TV news, surveying, treasure hunts, etc. High motivation and maximum participation in classes are necessary as Spanish is the vehicular language.

An exam held in May in Dublin is followed by a briefing for students and their parents. All levels are catered for and a final individual progress report is provided.

Students

At the home of a Spanish student

Sporting and cultural activities are shared with the Spanish students. They include sailing, the beach, tennis, bowling, etc. The Spanish family expects their guest to partake in family activities.

Regular contact is maintained with the Irish student. Spanish instructors and teachers, along with a bilingual coordinator, operate in a relaxed and cordial atmosphere, with a few rules.
