John's adventure in Normandy Jan/Feb 2022
Felix's feedback 21/11/24 - Le Mans

I spent five weeks in Le Mans between September and October and I found like there to be quite different from life in Ireland. The school days are longer and the Education System varied significantly. My host family had a different lifestyle compared to mine back home. The homework I received was fairly manageable and during the weekend my host family would take me on outings to various places such as the “Le Mans race track”. Although I found the French language challenging there were people who knew bits and pieces of English which helped me talk with them. Overall my experience gave me a good perspective on life in a different country.
Hannah's feedback 14/11/24 - Châteaubriant
I really envoyed the first five weeks I spent in France. At first I was extremely nervous but also excited. As soon as I met my host girl, Elléa, I knew she was going to be really nice. On the first day of school I was so scared but as soon as Elléa introduced me to her friends I was happy. All the people in my class were really welcoming and made a lot of effort with me. It was a really cool experience and I am so grateful I got to do it. I’m hoping the next term in France will bring me the same joy and I know it will. I also feel my French is improving so much and I feel so much more confident speaking now than I did at the start.
Lucy's feedback - Granville 11/12/24
I spent five weeks in Granville from the 8th November to the 13th December, and it flew by ! My correspondant Sasha had similar interests to me, so it was very easy to have a laugh with her. My host parents were extremely welcoming. At school I hadn’t a clue what was going on at first but I found myself catching on and getting questions right in Maths ! My “French” friends were very patient with me and we had good craic. I am very grateful to the Living Language gang who made my trip go smoothly. Overall my experience was great !
Sally's feedback 11/12/24 - Laval
I enjoyed the five weeks I spent in Laval. While there were some similarities between France and Ireland, it was definitly very different. It was a great experience and I learnt a lot about myself as well as French. I stayed in the boarding school during the week and with my host family on the weekends. They were very king to me and made my experience so much better.
